November 16, 2018: The Center of Excellence on Sustainable Agricultural Intensification and Nutrition (CE SAIN Cambodia) of Royal University of Agriculture (RUA) facilitated lectures on “Future Agricultural Innovation: Harnessing 3D Printing Technologies for the Manufacture of Spare Parts for Agricultural Machinery” Presented by Mr. Mark O Looney, a researcher of the National University of Ireland, Galway (NUI Galway), Ireland.
Mark earned a master degree in Climate Change, Agriculture & Food Security from NUI Galway, Ireland. Currently, he is a researcher of NUI Galway joining a collaboration with the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) the Philippines and the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering at the Royal University of Agriculture (RUA). His feasible study is investigating the potential of 3D printing to manufacture spare parts for agricultural machinery.
The lecture shared about brief introduction on 3D printing technologies, how to use a 3D printer and its software, how the printing process works, Advantages and disadvantages of the 3D printer and the practice. (Click here for the slide presentation, 1.87 MB)
