April 25, 2019: The Center of Excellence on Sustainable Agricultural Intensification and Nutrition (CE SAIN Cambodia) of Royal University of Agriculture (RUA) facilitated facilitate two lecture series on 1.“Screening Halophilic Microorganism from Sea Salt with Different NaCl Concentrations” presented by Ms. Nai Rathana, CE SAIN Master Scholar, Faculty of Agro-industry, Royal University of Agriculture. Ms. Nai Rathana graduated her Bachelor of Science from faculty of Agro-Industry, Royal University of Agriculture. Her bachelor research was focused in the area of postharvest technology under the topic “Non-invasive Quality Evaluation Using Differential Absorbance on Tomato.” Currently, she is a Master Scholar at Royal University of Agriculture through the funding support by USAID-CE SAIN project in the academic year 2018-2020 in the field of Food Science and Technology.
2.“Vegetable Packinghouse as Strategies to Promote the Best Postharvest Practices and Vegetables Value Chain Business” presented by Mr. Tong Socheath, Deputy Director of Division of Research and Extension and CE SAIN Master scholar, Royal University of Agriculture. Mr. Tong Socheath serves as a Deputy Director of Division of Research and Extension of the Royal University of Agriculture from 2018, in charge as Head of Hun Sen Research Center of this Division. Currently, he designs and implements the Royal University of Agriculture’s research agenda in line with the National Agriculture Development Plan. His interests of research are the combination of the concept of Postharvest, Safety and Agro-Food System toward environmental sustainability. He is also conducting climate change-related project “the project of Building Adaptive Capacity through the Scaling-up of Renewable Energy Technologies in Rural Cambodia (S-RET)”.
